In today’s world, almost every individual is dependent on technology in one way or another. Technology has impacted almost every area of our lives. Digital technology has enabled us to access unlimited information at any time we want. It has also enabled us to interact with each other, irrespective of the distance. Smartphones, computers, Smart TVs have all become a necessity. Children start to become dependent on them from a very young age, and they have become a necessity overtime for adults.

Digitalization has impacted our lifestyle to a great extent. It has made our lives easier, as a lot of things which were previously considered a hassle can now be done with a single click. As a great amount of information is now accessible to everyone, people are generally more aware about their own bodies as well as their surroundings. Social media has made news a lot more accessible for everyone. Technological advancements have also resulted in many advancements in the field of medicine, and because of this many new effective treatments are now available.

However, being dependent on technology has certain disadvantages as well. Over-usage of technology often negatively impacts our brain systems, and there has been evidence associating it to mental-health problems such as anxiety and depression. It has also resulted in people having a shorter attention span making it difficult for individuals to concentrate for a longer period of time. Moreover, when we gaze at the screen for very long periods of time, which can result in digital eye strain. To avoid this we need to ensure that we keep in check our screen time and take breaks in between. Technology has positively impacted our lives, and has made them easier, but its overuse can be detrimental to our health, and this is why smart use of technology is imperative.
