Aside from the train or the bus, there is an Uber pool and other services that allow you to share a ride with others and if you aren’t using a transportation service then you can still share a ride with a friend or a neighbor that lives close by and here is why? For one, you don’t have to bear the entire cost of the commute which can be hefty given the rising prices of fuel. Plus, you get some company on the road and it’s always good to have some company around. In case your car breaks down then you are going to be glad to have some company with you that you can rely on for help.
If it isn’t stating the obvious, sharing a ride reduces carbon emissions and is a step towards helping the environment. It may seem small and insignificant but if a gradual culture of ride-sharing can be established then that would be a huge step toward reducing carbon emissions. If you think about it, there is nothing shameful about taking the bus or sharing a ride. It is nothing more than saving a few dollars where you can and proving that you actively care for the environment and are willing to change your lifestyle a little bit to protect it.
