The Life of Cristiano Ronaldo

Football is a sport played by millions of people from all over the world. In fact, it is the most-played sport on the entire planet. It is an activity that brings people from all walks of life together, and encourages them to cheer for their team in unison. As a result of the great number of people who play football, making it big in professional football is very difficult – that is, part in parcel, as to why footballers also make so much money. Being the best of the best, therefore, is close to impossible – for all except Cristiano Ronaldo.
Born in Madeira into a lower-middle class family, Cristiano’s entire life revolved around football. Having shown a keen interest in the sport from a young age, he found himself on Sporting Lisbon’s youth squad. Then came that fateful day – the day Sir Alex Ferguson’s side would face Cristiano’s. The fixture between Manchester United and Sporting Lisbon proved to be one of the most significant events in sporting history. It was in this match that Ronaldo was scouted and later approached to join the Manchester side.

It was in Manchester that Ronaldo got his rise to stardom. A versatile winger and strategic attacker, Ronaldo launched penetrative attacks against his opposition, opening them apart with his skilled footwork and intuitive passing. It was at this stage when he entered the discussion as to who is the best player in the world.
After playing for many years, and winning multiple titles, at Manchester United, Ronaldo made the decision to cross borders and see the famed Spanish football in action. His move to Real Madrid was an expensive one, but one that would see the club win a great deal of silverware. After many years, and many trophies, Ronaldo made the move to Juventus, and later back to Manchester.
Much can be said about who the greatest footballer of all time is, but any avid footballing fan would agree that Ronaldo is definitely up there.
